In the SUSCAPE research group we mainly focus on the development of quantitative tools based on mathematical programming to address the design and planning of sustainable processes. Our approach is based on the combined use of multi-criteria mixed integer modeling techniques and life cycle assessment principles, a framework that allows us to systematize the identification of process alternatives that lead to environmental savings.
